The Other Side

So lost am I
in a strange world
Afraid to breathe
Afraid to make
the slightest movement
Crossing the deepest ravine
on a bridge of twisted vines
I see each botanical cable
laid out before me
Some spots there is simply nothing
but clouds..
I hate to think what
dislodged those steps
Looking up and out
I see you standing
on the other side
Just waiting...
You know I am afraid of heights
Each step I take is such
a daunting task.
I can't turn around, now
The past is behind me
Now, it's all been done...
Reach out for me, my friend
and I'll take your hand
when I reach
the other side
