The grass waves in the wind
A soft breeze blows
The leaves float off the ground
A seed becomes exposed
Tears from her eyes
The color of sunshine from her hair
Fall upon the seed
Letting it grow into the air
Our love firmly planted in the ground
Becomes the key
To unwind the tangled roots
Of the tree of you and me
The tree can stand through storms
As we can stand the test of time
If we make it through all this
The sun will break through clouds and shine
Now hold on tightly
Don’t let me go
Hang onto the limbs
As the raging winds will blow
As love now fades
So does the green in the leaves
The tree now tainted bronze
Sheds its cover in the soft fall breeze
I’ll always think of you
When I see the beauty of a tree
I hope that you’ll always remember
The tree of you and me
