Heartache

Contributed by law_glen18 on Sunday, 28th October 2007 @ 10:00:48 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Why did we do this
Why should i care
When your the one who said
You'll always be here

My hearts on a cliff
Overlooking an abyss
You put it there
But it's you i still miss

Like a flower that blooms
Inside me you were safe
When you left the petals fell
Leaving me a stalk to wither and fade

Like a paper bag torn in two
One part is me and one part is you
So now i am simply just a half
In search of an angel to fix my broken heart

In the strangest places love is found....
I love you

So much truth inside the words of your second to last line. . .

There is a sadness dwelling inside this that is just heart
gripping. This emotion seems to touch everyone at some
point in their lives .... and quite often, more than once. You
have written with the blood of pain and it shows.

Happiness to you =)

Nicely Wrote. The poem is both sad by the broken promises, the damage as well as the will to love the attacker. However, I see promise for the future as you may feel you are only half now but you were only ever half before you met your love, and you may become a whole again when you meet a new 'angel', who will fix your heart. With every Autumn comes hope with a new Spring.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
