Covered In Filth

Contributed by wretched_reflections on Friday, 26th October 2007 @ 10:37:10 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Cradle the pale roses
Thorns prick delicate skin
Ignore it and concentrate in my sedated seclusion
Relief from previous rationalities
Vibrations on my vertebre tingle
Picking at exposed fabrics beneath the protection
Criticize riddles that contradict the hearts

In lines so dark, I feel it swelling under soiled covers
In eyes so hurt, Nothing seems to matter, I'll make it better

The weather changes
Concrete grinds against skin
Blood spoils and soon freezes on the gray pavement
Focus on earths artificial shell
To forget about my own
We'll pick up the pieces and restrict the reasons to eliminate the puzzle
We'll pick up the pieces and restrict the reasons to eliminate the puzzle

In lines so dark, I feel it swelling under soiled covers
In eyes so hurt, Nothing seems to matter, I'll make it better
In lines so dark, I feel it swelling under soiled covers
In eyes so hurt, Nothing seems to matter, I'll make it better

Running scared in specious fields
Claimed by factitious mortality
My exterior dismantled to merge with nature
Starved denied instinct
Resurrected and cultivated by fear
Hide in a cave where the sand is warm
Let the water wash it all away
Hide in a cave where the walls are thick
Shade my eyes from the brightest day

In lines so dark, I feel it swelling under soiled covers
In eyes so hurt, Nothing seems to matter, I'll make it better
In lines so dark, I feel it swelling under soiled covers
In eyes so hurt, Nothing seems to matter, I'll make it better

I feel the hurt in this write. Powerful and spine chilling and almost painful to a degree. The flow and style sets in perfectly.

Nice job

Michelle

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
