Pieces of my dream
lay out before me
like so many...
broken shards of glass.
I recall dropping
the ornament.
Golden orb falling
in what seemed as
motionless time.
Shiny flickers
of sparkling light
reflected, linoleum lines.
Knowing that I'd let go.
One end of the ribbon
free flowing
and flow the orb did,
crashing down.
Tears flooded my eyes
As I watched it
helplessly fall,
scattering to pieces
only to be swept away
and discarded sadly
just like unwanted trash.

I feel you on this flow.
As The sands of time
slowly flow
we remember what was lost......
