LoveRemembered

It was summer nights and moonlit light
That kept us safe and warm
It was holding tight to strangers
That would never be much more
It was your best friend and my dead end
That bound us to this earth
It was a town that slept with just us left
To haunt the sandy beach
It was friendly ghosts and midnight toasts
That kept us all insane
It was the fullest moon and 80’s tunes
That kept us all awake
It was an emptied flask no questions asked
That bred every emotion
It was the fire that died and the fire inside
That made us make our own
It was the wake of the surf and the feeling of worth
That caused us to sin (again and again)
And it was the openness of the moment
That made us content to live
