Lost...Is The Key

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Sunday, 21st October 2007 @ 01:56:18 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Where there once was so much
Now remains an empty, desolate space
What once was filled completely full
Has spilled, and left a stain in it's place

A shell with a face that smiles
All hollowed out from untruths and lies
Look deep within the orbs of brown
The pain is hidden somewhere in the eyes

You once made her shine so bright
Giving her more hope than ever known
Within pieces of lost dreams and lust
All the hope, like wind, it has blown

To live and breathe is only logical
What else can one lost soul do?
Walk miles and miles going nowhere
In sad and worn out, old shoes

A picture is painted with many words
A scene that only few can see
I wonder what time will tell
Future seems locked, and lost...is the key

So sad but great writing.
I know this feeling so well.
Sometimes you just have to cut your loses and go on.
Hope you find inner peace soon, my friend.
huggs, prayer,
emy

Oh, Laura, wow.

I'm sort of shaking my head tentatively, right now, to see if that'll kick these images out of my head. It's not working. What you've done . . . I feel like it's not gonna leave for a while.

What once was filled completely full
Has spilled, and left a stain in it's place

I stumbled over that part and reread and reread and it just, it breaks me. I can only imagine what it does to you.

This is so painfully beautiful. Oh man.

Wow Laura, stunning! You skilfully draw all the threads together into a powerful and emotional ending. Those final descriptions send shivers down the spine just imagining and knowing that purgatory of nothingness which it seems can never be left.

As I said, stunning!

Dom
