Chilling wind enters and carries wintry blues,
Dark and lamp lit days begin now,
Icy swirls cloak the heavens
And freeze the very light,
Streets fall hushed under nights nocturnal eye,
Tilted passively in crescent phase,
Soundless roads enter empty suburbs,
In sleepy arctic limbo,
Tiny windows flicker off one by one,
Late buses holding tired bodies
Cough heat into the torpid chill,
Evading darkened ice,
Dawns dazzling climb will be naturally restrained,
Inky cold blankets full of gloom
Will tire and slow the people’s days,
Groping and biting at stiffened limbs…

Lovely imagery, zenith!
I like this a lot! I can almost see the streets and buses that you wrote about...
Great poem! Keep it up! |

"Soundless roads enter empty suburbs,
In sleepy arctic limbo,"
Damn .. now that was an exceptional line, zenith. How wonderful! There is something
about a deserted street where there lies a blanket of fresh fallen snow.
so quiet .. so peaceful .. you have captured a bit of beauty here, my friend.
Just a lovely, LOVELY bit of beauty! Though, I have to say, the last stanza
seems a bit out of place, for me. It stands out as a bit dark in comparison
to the others. Still, a chillingly stunning poetic work.
awesome!

Dear Zenith,
Ahhhhhhhhhthe winter blues..........
I live in Wyoming so feel the wind, ice, and at 70 feel the aches of lumbs too.
Winter for me means protection, like a warm blanket keeping everyone away.
Exquisite delight in peace each wintryday!
What a wonderful "Word Master" you are zenith...........I enjoyed this poem in everyway!
Warm love,
consue
