My Raspberry Man

one day i met a man
he was selling sweet jams
he asked me my name and of course
well, you can call me, yours
he held my head
whispered in my ear
leaving tiny raspberry
seeds in my hair
i stayed up all night, dear
to make it just right
a batch as sweet as you
my little honeydew
you can have it for free
but you have to come to me
so i drove all night
every penny i had
by plane and by car
didn't consider how far
because i dream of his raspberry kisses
to one day be his raspberry...mrs.--
i found his jars were empty
and i never saw him again
though a small little note
that sweetly began
darling dear
eventually even the most lush trees go bare
the sweetest fruits grow bitter
will we meet again? not ever
not taking a step more
i lied gently on his floor
dreaming of his raspberry kisses
to one day be his raspberry ..mrs.--
