A Childhood abducted
A child abducted from her bed
Kidnapped, tortured or dead?
The hearts of the masses aches
And from this a lesson we should take
The Importance of a life
A child, a childhood, days of innocence and free
Termination of such potential
A tragedy
It seems to our society
Highlighting the chasm
Emphasising the fact
That children are valued differently by nations
Not all childhoods are fun-packed
Many are hijacked
Given responsibility for the actions of a God
Brought up in misery
Surviving when no one gives a sod
Child labour, child soldiers, child pornography
Abhorrent to think that parents could think that’s how it’s supposed to be
But they do, you see
It was their childhood, perhaps worse, possibly
On one side of the world one child hurts and thousands react
On the other side, Dad straps semtex to his son for the attack
One mother mourns her child bereft it seems for an age
Another mother worries about the loss of a wage
This is the chasm
The value of a life
Quality or quantity
Redemption in the after life
Cherubic angels, children sent to their heaven
Peace for mankind? Not until the values are even.

Yes, you are so right in this.The maddie incident brings home just how much suffering some children are forced to endure in this world.
In some cases "childhood" doesn't even exist

An excellent message you have penned here. Tragic what society does to children. Somewhere folks have gotten lost, and I wonder if they'll find their way back. It is a cruel world in which we live.
