I've made my home at the top of a hill
Overlooking a land of opportunity
For the mind to expand and ride the tides
To rediscover myself like never before
I took a long journey from West to East
From the South to this Northwest haven
In all my travels I've never seen
A clearer sky or a healthier mountain
And the people smile with unforced grins
Giving me assurance that I am one of them
Perhaps they know my kind
By spotting the enthralled twinkle in my eye
So I'll have another micro brew
And I'll listen to another intense local band
Get lost in the inherent melodies
Of this sometimes gray, but always great, little big town.
For I have much to learn from these folks
Many of their mountains to climb
But I never plan on leaving this place
It is my comfort and my peace.

No matter where you sit on our planet I know that you will see all that is about you and turn it instantly into a sunbeam and bask in it always. A wonderful piece reflecting how aware you are of every moment and every place you visit, be it in mind or in spirit. |
