How a Man Should be Treated

Contributed by thebrokenyouth on Thursday, 4th October 2007 @ 08:24:51 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

When your hero asks for you to let down your hair,
Smile and toss it down for him, he’s the answer to your prayer,
When he comes to your cabin and gently kisses you awake,
Take his hand into the night and his heart you shall not break,
When he’s on your porch, holding up your own glass shoe,
When he fits it on your foot, know your love is true,
After all this know that you’ll be completed,
Because that’s how a man should be treated.

When you meet his family, smile and be yourself,
He loves you for who you are and you don’t have to prove yourself,
Let him massage you but give him a good one after,
When he takes you out to dinner, giggle and enjoy his laughter,
Let him open the door for you and give him a beautiful smile,
When he enters after you, know the wait was worthwhile,
Kiss him until his guards go down and until he is weakened,
Because that’s how a man should be treated.

Return the favor for him by never changing in front of your friends,
Listen to things he speaks to you and never offer amends,
Let him always be your knight in shining armor,
And when he compliments you, understand he is a charmer,
When you happen to awake and he is watching you sleep,
Kiss him truly, deeply for the love you need to keep,
And remember to never be conceited,
Because that’s how a man should be treated.

Make sure you be his Juliet, his lover, and his light,
Lead him down the right path and tell him not be out at night,
Let him cuddle with you, when it’s cold and dark,
Love him to infinity and forever leave a mark,
Make sure you kiss him down his body at night, real late,
Remember to love and please him because that is your fate,
Know that with him you are always completed,
Because that’s how a man should be treated.

In a way I wanted to scream SEXIST!
But in a way it's not, and it's very sweet.
And of course a man is different from a boy

I really liked this, I didn't think it was sexist, perhaps I'll write a partner for it I definetly know how a woman should be treated since I've always been mistreated..sadly...good job :)

I wrote something akin to this, though maybe a little extreme, called "Safeguard" This one is interesting for sure, shows the mark of a true hopeless romantic. I don't care what any hip, politically correct yips say, these kinds of little moments are what love is about.
