twisted street lamps and broken pavement cross my path
walking down empty streets stars are like glass
drawn faces empty souls the natural wildlife on the stroll
faces on screens in store fronts selling cheap vices
zombies walking more anti depression for the crisis
cars spewing poisons thieves in the shade
women selling sex so their bills can get paid
dirty water polluted land all in the name of progression
soldiers dying in the night for a whole new degression people huddled in their homes hiding from amber alert
while they pave the way for a eventual nuclear dessert
all this from empty streets and the news the tell on tv
never knowing the whole truth only what they perceive
but empty ears and pilled up minds is all we have these days
everything our heart tells true but only to god we pray
a single tear a quiet cry no not nothing in my eye
i feel the pain and confusion my emotion gets me by
i feel no guilt to help someone or love to give away
i bend down to shallow prayers that are cast threw the day

Relic,
Another excellent job with writing and conveying your strong feelings of our Earth and her peoples. It is a sad damn world we reside in these days, and the madness seems only to grow. You always give me something to ponder on with your writes. I love your heart, my brother.
Peace, love and hugs,
Laura |
