One Last Drink

The cool night air soothes my restless soul,
Why'll the rhythm of passing cars,
Is the melody my ears can not resist,
I drink not to gain inebriation,
But because it provides me reverse motivation,
The world has stopped as I control movement,
Life keeps wanting but I find little need,
I see the light in the distance but shield my eyes,
Will tomorrow fulfill dreams of mornings past?
Or will it disappoint like a present-less Christmas,
I may be the editor,
But this pen lacks ink,
Cornered by loneliness,
I find only time to think,
That is reason enough to pour one last drink,
