Putting aside the day to day
and the usual tasks that come my way,
I’ve packed a light lunch and a change of drawers
and set off to visit other shores
What used to work won’t work any longer
I’m looking for things to make me stronger;
I want to think from the outside in
and invent a different sin
I’ll drink bold sights through thirsty eyes
and marvel at unfamiliar skies,
shed the skin that weighs me down
and dance naked till I’m golden brown
I’ve packed all my misplaced words
and sent a message to the birds
‘Meet me where the air is thin,
and teach me a different sin!”

Great write, full of adventures. I especially loved these lines, my friend...
"shed the skin that weighs me down
and dance naked till I'm golden brown"
Yes, indeedy that sounds so carefree. I hope to see you, if you decide to come through Missouri. I do believe you have my address and phone number. Call me, man...I'm always around.
Much peace, love and hugs,
Your sis from the states |

Put a smile on my face this evening!
This couldn't be more of a wonderful take on travelling seen through humourous and enthusiastic eyes.
Hoping you have a great time!

Ah, ito.... the journey begins, eh?
I love the title of this piece! It rings familiar... as do lines like "What used to work won't work any longer". If I'd to guess, I'd think this is bigger than it initially appears on the page. It's... well, hell... it's exciting. There is an eagerness, a readiness, an enthusiasm here that has me smiling.
Journey forth, poet. The world awaits.

Dear spike, my friend. How exciting an adventure, to be in search of "a different sin".
How I both admire and envy you this day. :) There is an allure to your words for more
than one reason. As always, you grasp the language with both hands and stir emotion
in a pot of passion, adding all the adjectives and exacted words needed to move and
touch those who bear witness. There is a deliberateness to your action, dear poet.
Hoping that your travels bring you much joy, enlightenment and exhilaration. And,
of course, a definite and different sin.
Good luck, poet and have F U N !!!!! Wish you were coming to this part of NA. :)
We could get into all kinds of trouble!
~Breezy
(wishing you a Bon Voyage .. tho' slightly behind in doing so. )
