STILL WATER

STILL WATER

I can feel my pulse racing, it's that time again I know
there's a traffic jam in my mind, seeking serenity, to let it all go

that vast open space, where the seagulls fly freely
to dive down, to unearth it, to see it all clearly

cause in our everdays we tend to lose our own truth
the motor just keeps racing as we long for our youth

So, take me back to the still water
my sanctuary, my home, where im free
I look as the sun glistens down on the ocean
there it is, my reflection, where I always find me
there it is, my reflection, where I always find me

the breeze is my angel as she lifts the weight from my shoulders
I soak in the sun as it soothes my own soul
the ocean's my music and the sky is my vision
this place, it is mine, where I come to feel whole

feel the sand through my toes
taste the margaritas on my lips
be thankful for all life bestows

when the sea gets excited and the whitecaps ride in
hear the rythm of the steel drums and the voice from within

So, take me back to the still water
my sanctuary, my home, where im free
I look as the sun glistens down on the ocean
there it is, my reflection, where I always find me
there it is, my reflection, where I always find me

It will always be here in this still water
where im human, im real and just me

that would make a good song. somebody like jimmy buffett could sing it, or maybe not. i liked it. i wonder how you sing it... it would be cool to hear how you do it.

I can see this as an accoustic piece, simple guitar and vocal.
Takes me back to when I was young and still wrote songs !!

I love the flow of this song. I also can see it as some sort of slow based song. Something that you would kick back and relax to.
