Forget the World

Contributed by AnenaLynne on Friday, 28th September 2007 @ 08:42:07 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I want to find my purpose
I want to end my pain
I want to fill my days with sunshine
And block out the thunder and rain.

I want to feel no pressure
I want to feel no grief
I want to experience happiness
For a moment, no matter how brief.

But I know that I’ll never be happy,
And I know that nobody cares
And I know that the rest of my life
Will be plagued with pain and despair.

So I’ve surrendered myself to hopelessness.
I have no tears left to cry
My body is worn and weary,
But my soul still refuses to die.

The world crumbles all around me
As my tragic life unfurls.
But I know that when this life is over,
I’ll be able to forget the world.

Very poignant, especially the line
"But my soul still refuses to die"
The body is just a shell, the soul is the real key to someone.

very tragic write. it's so painful to be falling down that rabbit hole, especially when you're young... because there is still so much you don't know and haven't experienced but you FEEL like you're grown up. Hopefully Eric will find his happiness within himself and that will help him with his outlook.
