Don't Let Autumn Come

Contributed by adreana on Friday, 28th September 2007 @ 07:19:39 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

He is the tree and I am his leaves
Through stormy weather, he's my only reprieve
His branches hold my green soul up
Letting love overflow in my cup

That heavy wind can soil the sun
But dear old Weatherman,
Don't let Autumn come.

My colors changed since Spring gave bloom
My face is turning shades of peach and maroon
His strength is tiring, his eyes falling
A change of heart is coldly calling

That heavy wind can soil the sun
But dear old Weatherman,
Don't let Autumn come.

One last breath, I'm begging and pleading
As pieces of me fall to the ground, bleeding
He's going dormant, perhaps love was too much
Making him too hard for these leaves to touch

That heavy wind can soil the sun
But dear old Weatherman,
Don't let Autumn come
