A cold winter’s day,
The sky is gray.
Dusk approaches as the snow beings to fall,
Off to take a walk and avoid all.
The path leads through brush and trees,
Suddenly I fall to my knees.
Arms stretched open as tears pierce through my eyes,
I cannot endure your last goodbyes.
Ice falls from the sky and hits my skin,
My face – desolate like the emptiness that resides within.
Winter’s breath I inhale,
My skin tough to the touch and pale.
Hand on one knee and then to rise,
God – please advise.
Step by step a journey to unfold,
Night sets in – what does it behold.
Body trembling from winter’s touch,
Close my eyes – a vision of you is too much.
My heart and feet begin to race,
The intensity is an aggressive pace.
Passionate memories reside within,
Feels like the sleet that hits my skin.
You once a warm Spring’s breeze caressing me,
Is now a cold winter's bite piercing thee.

Nice write! I really enjoyed reading it.
"Passionate memories reside within,
Feels like the sleet that hits my skin."
I've felt that feeling before...you captured it perfectly. *applaud*

Iv felt that very same way . The snow the ice of a cold winters day and the feeling one has in their
heart when your hurting fits together doesn't it?
Very well done, keep up the good work!! |
