Don't Dream

I searched for truth like water for my soul,
To quench a mighty thirst within my bones.
The more I looked the less I ever learned,
And all the time just drained into the sand.
Then in the night I heard a voice that said,
“The more you know the less you’ll lay in rest”.
Now I still sleep but rarely do I dream,
To lead me to a place not meant to be.
