THE JUST FOR THE UNJUST

Contributed by joe-joe on Tuesday, 4th March 2003 @ 06:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Linger around the cross, smelling the blood of the perfect sacrifice, our entrance into the gates of paradise.

The just for the unjust; dead and buried as it was planned,

Yet resurrected with all power and authority in His hand,

With salvation and love filling His wings, Now let the whole of creation sing,

He is alive; He is alive forevermore, living in our hearts, reconciling the world unto Himself...

Let us linger in the glory of his love, smelling the sweet fragrance of praise given to magnify and exalt His holy name,

The just for the unjust slain,

He bled and died, humbling Himself unto death, then forgiving us with His last breath,

With healing and forgiveness in His wings,
Now let the whole of creation sing,

He is alive, he is alive forevermore, living in our hearts, reconciling the world unto Himself.

Linger in His presence for in His presence is fullness of joy, and He was given, so life, we could have to enjoy,

For He is our bread; let us therefore, partake of His goodness and grace, for He was broken in our stead,

The just for the unjust,

With salvaiton and patience filling His wings, now let the whole of creation sing,

He is alive; He is alive forevermore, abiding in our worship and praise, reconciling the world unto Himself...

Let us linger in His shadow, hiding in the secret place created by the cross that He bore,

Bearing the sins of the world upon His shoulders, as He hung high in the noon-day sky,

The just for the unjust,

With healing and deliverance filling His wings, now let the whole of creation sing,

He is alive; He is alive forevermore, abiding in our worship and praise, reconciling the world unto Himself...

I really like that poem, I'd love to hear it put to music and sung as a hymn.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
