selfstruggles

I had a malady that ate me away,
A voracious disease that was determined to stay.
The ailment waned with the taste of this drug,
An antidote so intense,
Comprised of his love.
I'm relapsing.
The cancer is clogging each vein.
All I can do is succumb to the pain.
I was bitten by the Serpent of Greed.
How should I accept the fate I have seen?
Once again I've driven myself to the edge.
I stare down in recollection over the ledge.
Then I dove from the tip of the blade,
Into the pool beneath,
Sinking from the number my heart now weighed.
In it I searched.
I swam through the depths,
Only to find I was missing some steps.
But I found the answer.
The only one it could be;
You're immeasurably precious...
Irreplaceable to me.
I ruined myself with inadvertent deceit,
I kneeled in prayer at your holy seat.
I tore this hole for you to see.
I tore this hole for you and me,
To see how imperfect perfection can be.
