Old and peacefull death...

Contributed by zenith66 on Saturday, 1st September 2007 @ 09:26:14 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

There, leaning over the horizons golden edge,
Septembers sun sits upon the quiet sea,
Holding on to earth, and tinting(dying) cloudy swirls red,
Her aging heart remembers, flickers of youth she thought were dead,

Wrinkling fingers close in pain upon the sand
Still youthfull, its golden incline meets the dreamy sea,
Her verdant eyes grow tired as they longingly behold,
Their eightieth September sun has fallen, and her bodies feeling cold,

And now her moon, peering (through) the ghostly veils of night,
Pulling at the stirring watery mass, with ageless tidal shift,
She feels the nightly solitude surround her brittle body, untouched soul!
And the the little sandy stretch begins to swell, as the tide begins to roll,

Every painful thing is washed away,
in an unseen dance of surf and spray,
Her heart is filled with liberation as she’s swept into black,
it ends her lamentation,

Abandoning flesh and bone and memories of any home,
she’s sinking like a stone,
And far beyond our human reach, the lustrous stars above the beach..

They see it!!!,

Rising toward the perfect lunar height above the tiny world,-

The radiating spirit…

of a green eyed little girl…

oh my good gracious! Who would have thought, dying could be so
utterly beautiful? Zenith, my friend, this is wonderful. It almost makes
one long for the end. There is such a depth of substance here.

Damn! I adore the last four lines .. how incredibly freeing and lovely.

I really enjoyed how you depicted this woman as not fighting the
inevitable, but actually embracing it. Wow. Glorious work.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
