Crushing detriments that force souls from physical bodies.
Empty shells left to waste,
An emptiness only death can taste.
Deprived of all that marked their existence,
Despite the amounts of unrelenting persistence.
It's like an angel's fall from celestial grace,
A sinuous descent from her holy place.
Broken wings can't catch the fall.
Once she's down,
She's forced to crawl.
Comparable to a unicorn stripped of his eternal living.
The result of the loss so unforgiving.
Bleeding vitality from the base of a broken crown,
A withering king who is no longer bound.
The ocean's siren who can no longer sing out for love,
Her voice trailing off like the coo of a dove.
Her soul mate lost in the great blue sea,
He's waiting to hear her harmonious plea.
These are the detriments that force souls from bodies.
They are empty shells left to waste.
This is the emptiness that death can taste.
