To Our Love that was a Lie

Contributed by CrimsonTears on Tuesday, 28th August 2007 @ 03:44:35 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

When our eyes met
My heart skipped a beat
I wasn’t sure why
But I knew we had to meet

From there fate took the wheel
It all just seemed so right
Two months it took
For us to see the light

We soon realized
That we were meant to be
It was all so perfect
Having you beside me

The months passed by
All so very fast
Our life together was
Surely meant to last

But in the eleventh month
Of being as one
You began to question
If it was time to be undone

I looked at you and said
Please just give one more try
We can still make it
Our love cannot die

But I guess I was wrong
Because after only one month more
You said you had enough
And you walked out the door

Eight months later
I find myself here
Thinking of you
Shedding a tear

I’m still so in love
And no matter how I try
I’m still holding on
To our love that was a lie

Very beautifully written...and full of emotion...you did a wonderful job...and all pain passes in due time....but sometimes it wants to linger and last forever....great job

Well, this is quite the relatable piece, there were parts that looked like they were taken out of my life. This write connected with me on a different level than most, possibly because i've experienced something similar. For the story you've told alone, I liked this poem, but the style and structure also contributed to my opinion as well. I won't offer you any sort of platitude saying that it'll pass, but I do wish you the best of luck with your situation.
