Sunday Morning

Contributed by zenmind on Monday, 27th August 2007 @ 10:31:56 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Sunday morning prayers,
locked inside chests--priests struggle,
dared to stalk
quiet foreign doctorines,
the ones spoken of infrequently,
yet just the same, frankly
feels free, like poems

on Sunday mornings,
of ancient reocurring aches,
channeled through songs--sung
by the naked soundless nurture
of nature's self, filling offering plates
instead of hearts. Jesus said,

love your enemy, and before this,
love yourself--which is difficult
sometimes, when so many thoughts
of the contrary lack the same instinct
and drive, which lead saints forward.

Everything is fine though-- no use
in second-guessing guilt, previous choices,
actions--what is done is done, and
though while vile, sacred is the moment
we've created--to understand this

explains how prayers and poems
transform inside minds,
gravitate toward healing vibrations,
which lean and sway
back and forth, teaching the importance
of the lightness of touch, to move freely
without taking oneself too seriously, to heal,
to let go of judgements and expectations,
that are held so near, that once gone,
the weight lifted,
dissipates.
