So restless now, thoughts racing constantly
Searching for a place to rest, searching for solace
Staring at a reflection, an image without an identity
Staring back lies a blank stare, so cold, so melancholy
Lost at sea, drowning in an ocean of despair
Pummeled by wave after wave, no calm to this storm
Haunted by ghosts of the past, tormented by regrets
Regrets of decisions made and hearts shattered
Tormented by troubles with no resolve in sight
Another soul overwhelmed by loneliness
No tears left to cry, just a dry remnant on these cheeks
Agonizing sobs echo throughout the lands
A sound so afflicting it could melt the blackest of hearts
Slowly sinking, deeper into the abyss of life
Sinking alone, searching for a reason to fight
So helpless, visions of past days run through this shattered mind
Days without the darkness, nights without the tears
A deep breath as these eyes slowly close
The emotional storm lays to rest as an inner peace fills the void
As this withered soul sinks below the surface, never to return

WOW! Very thoughtful write. It grips me in so many ways. I'm at a loss for words. This is something I wish I could write. Very well done.
I will look for more of your work.
Peace

This piece is a very powerful one. Spoke to me in many ways. Such a sad realization though that many withered souls never return from the beautiful core that they started with. |
