Letting Go

I'm letting go -
All too quickly,
And way too soon.

I'm letting go of our nightly talks,
Like the moon lets go,
And lets the sunrise.

I'm letting go of the pain,
The way calm -
Gives way to a storm.

I'm letting go of all apologies;
The damage has been done,
And I can't go back.

I'm letting go of my 'what ifs'
Because I can't go wondering -
Through my entire life.

I'm letting go of my regret -
The way an addict,
Gives up the substance.

I'm letting go,
Of all the painful memories.
So I can remember you the best.

The smallest part of me -
Still loves you.
and I'm letting go of that too.

This was a very sad poem
but i enjoyed reading it..
