Uprise

Topic: DarkPoetry

If this journey was meant to end here, it would
But things continue to flow with the beat of time
Everyone is running around, hastily and numbly
Unable to decipher the codes created to control.

Daily routine leads to little room for improvement
Steel tanks bring an unnatural element to view
And still the rich must have and the poor dream
Yes, let's destroy the world a little more... please.

All heads are turned, oblivious to their peripheral
Stars gleam in their eyes and dust settles in pockets
There is no rain to help saturate their thirsty minds
Only forceful winds to make them falter in each step.

Everybody wants to rule the world, I am no different
Nobody pays attention to her sighs and muffled shrieks
Carressing her will release the aromas of the good life
Beat the ritual beating you have been conditioned to.

Rise up off of your feet, tear yourself from the screen
Open up your mouth and with all your might, scream
Only the action of your step can shake the system
Only the sound of your voice will awaken the Gods.
