a little girl all dressed in black
with tired painted face
is up all night
in pearly light
dreaming of Their embrace.
a little girl all dressed in black
rushing down the road.
with cigarette lips
and bony hips
and tears that make her float.
a little girl all dressed in black
whether its a day or night
she screams and kicks
to get her fix
or the wings to take her flight.
a little girl all dressed in black
staring down your eyes
you cant say no;
you always go
with her to slash her ties.
a little girl all dressed in black
oh how pretty once she was.
pupils wide
she can not hide
by lies what is their cause.
a little girl all dressed in black
with red ribbons on her wrists
the wine goes down
her soul to drown
in the fragile dusky mist.
a little girl all dressed in black
with tired little soul
in which she carved
for some love starved
paintings of Their roles.
a little girl all dressed in black
with tired painted face
is up all night
in pearly light
dreaming of Their embrace.
