For The Girl Upon The Stage

"For The Girl Upon the Stage"

I love you even though I don't know you
I see you upon the stage
Singing, playing, entertaining
But I'm just another face in the crowd
Watching silently
Captured by your every note, your every phrase

Your eyes are like a million fireflies
That illuminate the darkest night
And my heart

But oh, I wanna know you
And oh, I wanna show you
What you've done to me
But oh, I'll never know you
For I'm just another face in the crowd

I'm heating up the coffee on this night
For I'm sure to be awake
Possessed, caressed, and impressed
By every single thought of you
Dreaming silently
I'll be captured by your every note and every phrase

Your eyes are like a million fireflies
That illuminate the darkest night
And my heart

But oh, I wanna know you
And oh, I wanna show you
What you've done to me
But oh, I'll never know you
For I'm just another face in the crowd

Great poem =) I really like the first stanza. You capture this love of all humanity...that is how we can love someone we don't know...it is from this vantage point that I think Jesus was referring to when he said, "Love your enemy"...

I enjoyed reading the poem and following your experience of the concert in my mind. I could see you there, in the crowd, mesmerized and happy.

And you really touched on a feeling of lonliness....that I definitely relate to...and that everyone does really because that's life.

Be True,
zenmind

no comment i ever leave will do this poem justice..
I imagined you stood there as i have at many concerts just taken completely in by what was happening on stage and that one person singing those words that almost become addictive to hear.... i was especially like that when i went to my first TOOL gig... the singer just kept my attention the whole time, i barely noticed my feet hurt or the cute guy i was there with.... yet i did feel that strangely lonliness you get when amongst a crowd...

anyway i love this poem..
