Faces of Suicide

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Tuesday, 14th August 2007 @ 04:42:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Contemplating the methods
in which I could kill you.
Damn it would be so easy
to end your misery.
This murder would be legal.
The power is all mine.
We could take a handful
of Xanax and
a handful of Klonopin.
Mix it all together...
Swallow and watch the colors
spin and spin and then.....
forever sleep.

We could take you to the
old red barn.
The sacred one that stands on the farm.
Many rooms downstairs;
Hayloft up top.
Ropes hanging there...
Just waiting for your
body to drop.
Stack up the bales.
Climb up high.
Grab the thick hemp necklace
Place around the neck
Jump free and kick... and kick...
and die.

How about this one?
You'll need the garden hose
and the duct tape.
You get my drift all ready?
A little carbon monoxide
put you right to sleep, my sweet.
Stick the hose in the tale pipe
duct tape it really well...
Feed the green snake into your window.
Start the engine.
Deeply inhale.
Your asleep before the nares
start to drip blood.
Thank goodness you can't smell
that horrid odor of gas
and death

Now the next method is quick
but a bit more gruesome.
To hell with the radial artery.
Want to slit something?
Let's go for the gusto.
You'll be down in two minutes, three tops.
Jugular vein and the Carotid Artery...
Major vessels to and from your brain
Secret is turning your head to the side...
Find the place where you feel your heart beat.
Your pulse deeply throbs...
That's the spot ....now slice deeply.
Not too deep or you'll hit your trachea.
Drown in your own blood.
Not quite as nice as just watching the
blood drip...and drip.

How about a gun to the head?
Hell no that won't do.
Be our luck we'd only tear up
a little gray matter...
Make too small of a splatter.
We could stay with Him
let Him kill us slowly..
With our memories and pain.
All this stress..
bound to cause a myocardial infarction
or cerebral accident...

Death by broken heart
That seems the most tortuous suicide of all....

Laura Howell Horner

Author's Note: I suppose I added a bit of sarcasm to this piece. In no way do I find suicide or attempts of suicide funny. It is a serious subject. As a nurse, I saw many patients both alive and deceased from suicide or attempts there of. As a human being with strife, I have challenged my own existence. Life can get us down, but damn, always, always look for the light and reach out to someone....anyone.

A very emotion filled piece.

Suicide is not an answer, it doesn't solve anything, it just leaves other to face what we couldn't.

Nicely woven.

as always,
wordsy.

just the thoughts sometimes help, but if you think about things in the long run, there's always something or someone to live for. i'm sorry, but no one's been there for me and im still here.
reminds me of my poem
sweet lullabyes of carbon monoxide

Suicide is contemplated by most of us
as we live the life.
Deep inner conflicts effect us all.
