Heart And Mind.

Contributed by bleedthelove on Tuesday, 14th August 2007 @ 04:46:50 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You sit here watching as the teardrops trace my face
Much like a window laced with rain
Diamond eyes reflecting my pain
Yet it seems no matter how many hurtful things you do
My mind says let go, but my heart just won't give up on you
And in the moments that I feel all hope is gone
I fall to my knees praying to God for the strength to go on
Because my faith is crumbling, and my hands are shaking
And you don't know it, but my will is breaking
Watching the numbers fall off the clock
You let the days just come and pass
Moments of our life pouring away like the sand in an hourglass
And I hope that term helps you better understand
That your coursing through my veins
But I'm slipping through your hands
Breaking apart and falling astray
While you drown me in silence
Pushing away the sun and painting the sky in grey
And it's hard to make it better when only I am trying
Which brings me back to the very first line
Why I'm sitting here crying
Because no matter what you put me through
My mind says let go...
But my heart just won't give up on you.

Oh sweetheart! Been there, possibly the worst situation we face in life. But here I am on the other side of it, still here! And all the stronger for it. Your references to time in the middle of the poem- truly wondeful! Great, heart felt write. You expressed the emotions so well, brought me right back. And the way you connect the end to the beginning really enhances that trapped feeling... In short, wow.
