Abiding, sliding, gliding on dreary, dismal, desolate ice
I feel a numbing cold calmness,
So calm its peaceful almost warm, almost nice
The one warmth I can almost grasp amongst frigidness
The devilish wind thrusts a breeze across my face
It brings a chill of fear to me with malicious embrace
It howls across my naked ears like a screeching band
To survive I must flee from this sinister ice land
I strain my eyes only to see bleak whiteness
Skating in search of an escape from this sight
Only to find more ice, more white, more hopelessness
Blinding my hope with bright white is this icy blight
Until bright rays strike me of a friendlier fellow
However this time his rays seem quite mellow
He covertly transforms the ice making it melt
Giving me a sense of urgency so cruelly dealt
I try to move, crack! But it is too late
I know this is my dreary, dismal, desolate fate
The almost warmth is now all that I feel
Was it useless to fight this deadly ill?
