Then who really am I
Who took the pictures in my mind
Who writes the words I say.
Who smiles at the playing children
Who kisses their scraped knees
If I am just an empty slate
Who put the love in me
Who is the light within my eyes
Who’s beating this hearts drum
If I am just an empty slate
Where do my tears come from
Who dreams the dreams in my night
Who wakes upon the day
If I am just an empty slate
Who feels the sunshine’s ray

Wow, what a lovely and thought provoking write!
Great questions .. and just as a personal opinion, I've always
felt we are FILLED slates ... but the harshness of the world
sometimes takes things away. Sad, 'tis true, but your words
are so uplifting and inspiring!! THIS, is what it truly is to live, methinks.
