Modern mans refined tastes,
Laid out in fields of waste,
Men and women lost in routine,
The cogs that work the industrial machine,
The rivers of blue, green and gold,
Make way for corrosive rains of destruction untold.
The lakes that sparkled in sunlight’s rays,
Mosaic landscapes set ablaze,
And smoggy cities lost in the haze.
Forests that swayed in gentle breeze,
Sighs and whispers waltzing through trees,
Sawing through with expertise,
The Showing signs of our disease,
The Clouds turned black,
Above new tarmac,
And looming smoke filled chimney stack,
Yet, this world of contamination,
For the next generation,
Search for salvation,
Through some corporation,
Desperately seeking a new innovation.

I agree with what your poem is saying here. This industrial society has lost its way. We seek for answers through science and innovations while destroying nature around us. If people could only realize that the answers they seek can be found in nature, the world would be a much better place.

I hate that the beauty of this world is consumed by the greed of mankind. Good read. |
