The Muse

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Friday, 10th August 2007 @ 08:21:10 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

All the time...

She's the painting, and the music and the rhyme

It's the same...

In the evening hours the river speaks her name

All is still...

I have loved her always, and I always will

She's the whisper in the darkness
and the giver of the light

She's the wind that moves the willow
and a shadow of the night

She's a star on the horizon
just before the break of dawn

and her spirit is the reason
I have strength to carry on....

It's the same...

In the evening hours the river speaks her name

All the time...

She's the painting, and the music and the rhyme

All is still...

I have loved her always, and I always will

Your words are so softly beautiful, and the descriptions so vivid they breathe. I really like the idea of her being the force behind things, not simply the thing itself. It heightens the strength and uniqueness of the love.

A truly wonderful read!

Dom

Very nice, Larry. Soft yet potent - perhaps you have an actual inspiration on this plane or are speaking more generically? Either way, tribute poetry is perhaps a more apt category, but the joy of ideas and epiphanies at 2 am, the sense of wonder at the creation and the awe regarding the spark that birthed it, the inspirations that surround us and the motivation it calls up, is as close to love as it gets.

A warming read, quite lovely.

Larry, my friend ... this is just too damn beautiful. Such a
gorgeous display of emotion in words ...

There is a sentiment in this that I find absolute. And it is most refreshing. A love that stands the test of time.
One that is everlasting, (even through loss, pain, hardship) . . . it endures. And it never loses potency, but
only grows more intense with the passing of ages and turning of pages.

Damn fine poetry. The beauty in this could make an angel pause to sigh ~

gorgeous

Hey Larry, yeah it's been awhile. Glad to see you are still penning such wonderful writes.

Have a beer (or three) on me,
