As I await the dawn

Endless nights purged
of the dreams that once
danced in the land of slumber
As I wait the dawn.
Sorrowful whispers
in strange voices
caress the night
As I await the dawn.
Pillowed fantasies
await the nod
that brings blessed sleep
As I await the dawn.
Soulless images
play up in my mind
as the hours slowly tick by
As I wait the dawn.
Silent cries
echoes the wailing
as tears fall from weary eyes
As I wait the dawn.

Hopes that a new dawn shall be brighter and guide us to the place were joy is endless. Leave the weary and restless night behind. Oh yes this is well done and reflective once again to my mind space. Helping me to spend the dawn creating a new and happier day.
Your words give strength....to get through.... |

I can see this poem from two viewpoints intertwining. Firstly it seems like an interpretation of insomnia, and secondly as a rather more metaphorical depiction of emotions and life events. Then I considered that it could be both at once, and I like that idea of it.
Of course that's just what I drew from it, might be completely wrong!
But anyway I really liked this read, I found it thought-provoking and very well written.
Take care,
Dom |
