A racing of the mind
It's 2 A.M., I'm awake but blind.
I said good night hours ago
No one said good night to me though
But to me it's all nothing new
I'm so used to me without the you
Steady rain drops patter upon my window pane
My body falls asleep but not my brain
Through the damp, distant, darkness echoes a whistle......
pausing my thoughts.
The late train rolls through
ushering in the day anew
Thrice a ring resonates through my door
I never make it to hear four...

God I relate, this poem is small but its content complete. Capturing the restless night of sleepless eyes....... loved how you added the train whistle to this too....... yes oh yes ...... Super!
