Killing Her With Silence

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Thursday, 9th August 2007 @ 04:59:36 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

He...
He professes this undying love to Her
How could He do this wretched thing?
How could He go to a stranger's room
Lay money on her table
Disrobe, remove everything
Everything...but His wedding ring
Stand there naked
Embrace
Penetrate
Different faces, different places
Her and her and her and her...
But He claims He loves only She?
She cannot understand
She cannot fathom
She cannot begin to see
How He did "it"
Did He forget the one...
What they had
What they shared
What they promised to another?
How could He forget the one thing
She begged of him...
How could He be intimate
with someone other than She?
~~Sex to Her is Love~~
When did He stop loving Her
and wanting others underneath him?
Why can't He tell Her what went wrong?
Why can't He tell Her what happened?
Is He too afraid?
Too afraid of the...
Truth?

He is slowly killing Her with silence...

this is so sadly expressed laurabean.. this brought tears to my eyes as i read it.. its so deep and sad.. this is a great expression on how a woman feels betrayed and you have captured that feeling in such a way.. beautiful job.. so touching and heart felt..

To me this clearly defines destruction by betrayal. Be it only the destruction of a relationship, Laura, not the victim by a silence helpless to offer any defense for such betrayal. Two choices: Forgive but don't forget or end the relationship. Hmm. Lousy choices both ways! Very powerful write.

The emotion in this poem is so easy to feel and relate to. It's a sad situation to go through, but you have written of it well. thank you for sharing these words.

My dear laura, there is a profound pain inside these
questions, that a knife could never reach. It is far too
deep. I think that is why emotional cuts and scars are
harder to heal and get over. They cut to our very core.

You know how terribly sorry I am for all that you've
endured and continue to endure. It is maddening to
watch someone you care about struggle to get on, and
be helpless to do anything ...

Always here for you though ... love you sis!

*hugging you from the north*

Idiocy comes in many guises...one of which is silence. If a child who is afraid of possible retribution for actions when questioned about the why, the standard is "I don't know". Pressed, the child doesn't waver and nothing changes the actions(nor the reactions).
I personally, would not accept silence for something of this magnitude! But that is me and it is almost always easier to say what should be done.
Excellent work, dear lady.
thanks for sharing.
