Whirlpool

Topic: SadPoetry

And with every bottle sip
I let myself remember
And you let yourself forget
And all that I could feel
Was loose lips and closed eyes
And according to you
Tonight was only half
And I let my hands go
Along with my love
And you asked if your were a reminder
Buried beneath the cold
I said "Yes"
And all Hell broke free
And the drive home was proof
That stars do fade
And people do forget
And that some things never change
And we insisted that it was okay
Forced to leave
Forced to forget
The words you spoke tonight
Smeared make up with a swollen pride
Laid outside the car door
Fragile from the memories
That had never really left
These streets could only serve well
To an old memory's path
To forget is to remember
And to remember is to give up
What was lost within time
Shattered with fatigue and highway signs
That only showed the growing distance
I was awake with music repeating in my mind
Feeling nothing but an empty kiss
And an empty window view
Contemplating the broken
And memories lost in his oblivion
He is growing, he is loving
I am tired and feeling faithless
The only one thats worth this misery
The one that keeps my eyes opened
When the rays have gone away
The one that keeps me still
When the people keep walking
And its all because of the city
Who takes me from this cold slate
And keeps me locked in
Until somehow I may forget
And you can disregard any existence of us
