And Yet

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Thursday, 2nd August 2007 @ 01:07:03 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

And yet…
Grief is just the love we can no longer carry.
Exhausted at yet another battle, we are unable to fight.
You shall find me,
Crying into my coffee,
In the dark hours of the far too early morning.
As the streets still sleep,
Bathing in their halogen glow,
The window lets in too much of the light.
Darkness beckons, not a friend, but a familiar acquaintance,
Soothing me with a promise of rest.
But not tonight sweetheart,
No rest for the wicked,
And the wicked is I.
I will love you, and loathe you,
I will tear you apart,
Empty words, falling, from my empty heart.
You, who knows nothing of my desire,
Of my wish to see you gone,
Will lie still, in my tangled sheets.
Mocking me, as you see dreams,
And I see the damp patches on the walls,
Too weary for slumber.
My mind wanders, as voices shout, somewhere in this chaos of a city.
That my youth were still my own, to live out,
Instead of remembered,
In pages of scrapbooks, and from frames in which I smile.
So foolish. And now so bitter.
That he is gone and you remain, to taunt me with your presence.
Leave. I was pretending.
Giving you his face, his laugh, his name.
But the dawn doesn’t lie,
And in the misty red dappled light,
I see you for what you are.
Someone else.
Someone alive.

I was hesitant because of the title, but upon reading this was very impressed!
Your images are strong, the story tantalizing enough and overall quite artistically done!!

This--> line " Crying into my coffee,
In the dark hours of the far too early morning."
is indiscribable. i was seeing what i was reading vivdly. And feeling overwelmed by it's purly artist nobility amidst a lost sadness.
Most lovely a write. worth more than merely a 5star vote never the less consider it voted for . . . take care.
