The River

The river is sitting restless
Observing people passing by
Life has made them breathless
They can no longer live the lie

The river heart is beating
When the two lovers kiss
A love story is blooming
By the river gentle caress

The river eyes are bleeding
Tears of pain and sorrow
A woman's heart is screaming,
"My son is fighting in the war tomorrow"

The river still has hope
Watching the children giggling
It prays for the pain to stop
It wishes for a happy ending
