The Jungle

Forced into a world,
I have never seen.
Strange and confusing,
is this all a scheme?
The light barely pokes
through the thickened trees.
A shot is now heard,
I drop to my knees.
I'm forced to crawl now,
on the jungle floor.
Why am I stuck here,
is anyone sure?
Sent away from home,
by who I don't know.
Fighting these people,
who I'll never know.
Is this my freedom.
to kill faceless men?
To crawl on the ground,
and lose my best friend?
My life is taken,
from an unseen gun.
But I guess for them,
true life has begun.
They fight to be free,
and live without care.
But yet the U.S.,
has to interfere.
Our people are dead,
from disease or shots.
Others are dying,
while lying on cots.
Except for a few,
who get out scot-free.
But we are all blind,
and my never see.
President's rulings,
are all we go by.
But does that man care,
if we live or die?
