An Appetite For Life

Seldom are the times I cry, for man is left to fate.
His appetite of greed and lust now eaten from his plate.
Should we be menued for all time and be the weaker link?
When hearts that feel become the meal, our souls become the drink.

The life we live our oven, baked through when we're complete.
The shattered pieces left to rot are undigested meat.
The vegtables, our love and joy of planet all around.
The tainted waters flush us now, our life be so profound.

So hope shall be my diet as I consume my life.
Joy shall be my appetite sliced thinly with mans knife.
Love shall be my table piled high with souls to share.
Acceptance be my lesson for all that man can bare.

Wow ND! What an exceptionally profound bit of writing!
This is sensational, hun. Truly "food for thought" (if you'll
pardon the pun).

I love the cohesiveness of theme, but this line literally
broke me ..

"When hearts that feel become the meal, our souls become the drink."

Good gracious! Could any one line be more profound
than that? There is so much to ponder and breathe in
just with that one line alone, but when placed within
this piece ... the impact is unbelievably potent!!

You spoke directly to me with the first line of the third
stanza. Hope is something I've never lost and I pray
I never DO lose it. Brilliant write!!

~Breezy
(who thinks the picture is just magnificent too!! )

Beautifully profound write ND!
It can be hard to accept things sometimes, but I think that only with acceptance can come happiness and peace. Just my thoughts.

Take care,
Dom
