an Evening in Paradise

The stars had long gone out,
before I finally realized.
Our love was at it's sunset.
The last bit of eternal happiness
before it passes into shadow,
fading to Misunderstoond dark.
Silently, watching my last hope
Perish alongside a great dream.
I guess the fight we gave just wasn't good enough,
so we shot away our last sunrise
TOGETHER
We held our breath,
as our light grew dim.
I looked at you so full of regret,
and you smiled at me like it was all okay.
We waited for what seemed like hours,
until finally our sun set into the West.
This is the last time
I will ever have to say,
Goodnight, to our love.

Very nicely written. The last three lines are something everyone can relate too. Well done. |
