Sweet voiced songs to sunless moon
death goes from night to morn to noon,
Pick cherries for pie from dead branches of winter
my daughter shant go for no one sent her,
in memories trunk is a bit of his hair's lock
one could pull sweeter honey from a cold rock,
life out of death for intangible cake of rhyme
so lost from life's chime to everlasting endless time,
forever he remains young and beautiful in death's maw
the children only remember him from pictures they saw.
Of the eight of us, alas, now there are only four
for the rest of this party is lost to us living for evermore,
'tis hard to have a birthday celebrated when one dies
sorrow sweeps like a river and winged doves cry,
within' me no more are thoughts of heaven nor hell
weary hearts have stilled and long gone dry the well,
alighted tears that have escaped from the nightmare
from whatever triggered them through the years.
All of us mad with death then, and beauty ending
for this another uncelebrated birthday, no cards we're sending,
Ahhh, life moves on and memories move fast
thoughts come upeth with fresh strings, yeah, the past,
shadows are like paper streamers on the wall
today the day he died is fresh as his new death's fall,
invisible gifts loved ones send are empty boxes so dear
or else the house shall pass so dull and drear,
And the birthday one has not uttered yet one sound
'tis neither buried, air thrown, nor yet in ground,
his laughing eyes forever missing out of the party
his wonderful words now mean very little, verily,
and so today we lift our eyes to the distant skies
we say,"Happy Birthday Daddy/Hubby," another goodbye,
another year this wretched heart hath past
have a lovely B'day a super devine blast.

Moving sorrow, your words cut so deep, but yet, so soft, a touch of class, what else could I expect from this wonderful writer.
