There is a Man

There is a man
Who continually screams
With absolutely no pain in his fingers
Who in some sort of perpetual irony, constantly dreams
Of a place where nightmares never keep their promises.
There is a man
Who can cry with dry eyes
This man was once a boy
But he can't remember why
And the demons dancing at his feet
Are singing songs, making his legs go weak.
There is a man
Who was always told he could walk on water
But instead he closed his eyes
And begged his mother to stop dying.
And the monsters in his head
Just kept screaming his name
And eating his soul.
There is a man
Who refuses to walk
Who only has his hands to cradle his falling mind
There is a man
Who can't cry logic
Or wash the blood from his hands
His face and his eyes.
There is a man who just wanders
Crawling on his hands and knees.
Searching for a saint that was never there to love him.
There is a man,
Who sleeps under his bed and hides in your closet
Hoping you'll never know the secret to find him.
