A Day on Holiday

Chasing the sun
through shadows growing deeper.
A never ending trail of dark despair.
Depression and death,
follow forever seeking.
Where I lay,
wishing you could find me there.
How abstract is my world today,
watching lush fields and seas of blue,
then seeing the beauty fade away,
leaving me blinded,
wishing to start anew.
All the blue sky’s have turned gray,
my roses are nothing but thorns,
our words have been turned to ash,
and gentle kindness is frowned upon.
Silence is rewarded with silence,
uneasy and utterly alone,
perhaps my good friends,
death and release,
wont keep me waiting
for too long.
