A Man in Love
I lay my head upon a pillow
That lies next to you
Touch you softly as you’re sleeping
As satin sheets do
I adore your angelic face
In repose next to me
Oh darling these are the visions
Of a man in love you see!
I watch the sunlight in the morning
Highlight the golden in your hair
Reveal the textured perfection
Of your complexion so fair
I savor the aroma of the fragrance
That does so celebrate you
I view you through eyes
Only a man in love can do!
I kiss your lips softly
A treasure I’ll always keep
As you slowly awaken
I vanish from your sleep
These are those words
A poet writes to his dove
These are the dreams
Of a man in love!
